Adjudication Panels
Adjudication panels play an important role in the clinical trial process and in the review of safety for post-marketing oversight. Much like a DSMB, their independence is critical to withstand regulatory scrutiny. An adjudication panel is a group of experts that provides an opinion on case specific incidence.
They may be looking at a serious adverse event to ensure:
- it truly was an event,
- the event was product related,
- if the event was part of the disease process.
